Child and Family Therapy

Does your child struggle with:

  • Emotional outbursts or frequent temper tantrums?

  • Separation anxiety?

  • Disruptive behavior (not listening, defiance) in school and/or at home?

  • Difficulty adjusting after a stressful family experience?

Our work together will start with a deep dive into understanding your family’s current struggles. During our initial 3 to 4 sessions, we will explore your current concerns, gather background information, and co-create a treatment plan.

I am trained to deliver Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Attachment Biobehavioral Catch-up, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Trauma-Focus Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Services

Pregnancy & Postpartum Support

Research shows that nearly one in five new parents experience mood or anxiety concerns during pregnancy or after delivery. Maternal mental health conditions are the most common complication of pregnancy and childbirth. It's very common for caregivers to get the "baby blues," a two-week period when parents and caregivers have mood swings, exhaustion, sleep problems and crying spells. If the “baby blues” worsen or last longer than two weeks after birth, the caregiver may have a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder, which are common and highly treatable concerns.

I provide support for new parents during this big life transition.

If you need more urgent mental health support, please call the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262).

Parenting Support

Parenting is the most challenging job in the world! And children don’t come with an operator’s manual. Most often, we learn how to be a parent from the way we were parented. My approach to parenting support combines developing an understanding of your parenting style and providing concrete skills based on decades of child-development research.

I am trained to deliver Circle of Security Parenting.

"Often, problems are knots with many strands, and looking at those strands can make a problem seem different."
